This is an old statue made of terracotta that stands about 7 feet high. Some Antique dealers think that it is from the 1893 Columbian Worlds Fair, but we have not been able to verify if this is true. There is a phrase sculpted into the base that says” Leaden Drags Future Onward Like Lightning the Present Flies Forever Stands the Past”. There is a signature on the bottom of the base that we think says J Allet, but we are not sure of this either. Regardless this is a beautiful terra cotta statue.womenstatue2
